BCC has grown from five founder member bodies, at its set-up in 1982, to a current membership of 19 trade associations, research and educational institutions representing contract cleaners to environmental campaigners and toilet campaigners to cleaning trainers.
We provide a forum for member bodies to liaise and discuss industry-wide improvements. As co-owners of the Cleaning Show we use any funding we receive to plough directly back into the industry into improvement schemes.
We believe we fully encompass the UK cleaning industry and are proud to represent it in all its glory. Cleaning is now a professional industry with excellent opportunities.
It is a vital service cross-sectioning all other industrial sectors. Without adequate cleaning provision many other services would grind to a halt. For further information see:

We Need the Loo is a campaign involving the British Toilet Association, University of West of England, Helen Hamlyn Centre, the founder of All Mod Cons (now the BTA) Women's Design Service (now closed) and various other organisations and academics. We feel very strongly that the first step in getting improved public toilet provision is for it to be made compulsory to local authorities to provide them.
